COMET C/2025 A6 (Lemmon)

Currently there are two Comets visible in the evening sky: C/2025 R2 (SWAN) and Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon).   Finally Comet Lemmon is now visible in the evening sky in the northern hemisphere.  How exciting.

To see Comet Lemmon, timing and location matter. Peak visibility is expected around October 18-21, 2025. To maximise your chances, head to a dark location away from city lights.

Look north for this one near the constellation Ursa Major.   Use an app like Stellarium to find its exact location from your latitude and then start scanning the sky after sunset with binoculars.  For Comet SWAN it’s a bit harder to see as it is not nearly as bright as Comet Lemmon.  But you can still see it with binoculars from a reasonably dark sky site.  Look near the Milky Way and scan the sky with your binoculars.  I saw it with 10×42 binoculars from a Bortle 3 site.
