I hope you all heard about all the activity on the sun coming from sunspot 4174. There were two huge X class solar flares coming from that sunspot November 11. An X51. Flare, the biggest of 2025 and this was close on the heals of two earlier eruptions on November 9 there was x1.7 flare producing a coronal mass ejection directed toward the earth and this was right behind an earlier eruption November 7 which they thought would hit earth on November 10 but it didn’t happen but then the morning of November 10 there was a second X class flare which unleashed another coronal mass ejection, an x1.2 eruption leading NOAA to issue a G2 geomagnetic storm watch that was upgraded to a G4 geomagnetic storm.
I walked out onto my deck on November 11, an hour after sunset and was shocked to see a brilliant red in the sky toward the Big Dipper. The red was easily visible to my naked eye and increased to cover the entire sky from about 7 pm to 11 pm when the clouds moved in. The red color dominated but there was also green and magenta and it was magnificent.
